Our Culinary Artist
Michele K. Tompkins, born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, grew up in the kitchen observing her grandfathers cook. Her natural affection and creative talent actually dates back to her great grandfather who was a chef at the famous Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York during the 1930s. Michele’s passion is also derived from life experiences visiting and living in several major cities such as Paris, Madrid, Florence, Rome, New York, Chicago, and Atlanta. After a few years of working in television marketing & promotion for FOX5 Atlanta and the nationally syndicated court show “JUDGE MATHIS” Michele took a huge step by enrolling into culinary school at the Cooking Hospitality Institute of Chicago, Le Cordon Bleu. While attending school she secured multiple full and part time positions to push her education and experience forward. Completely submerged in the industry, Michele transformed into the urban foodie she is today. Her forever love affair with the world of food does not stop there she is equally crazed about delivering awesome friendly service to each client and is constantly thinking how to affectively raise the bar. Michele’s Bohemian style approach to food in combination with her drive, dedication, loyalty, and transparency is the foundation of urban foodie café to building solid customer relations.
